I bought the 13 mm Protector Chain and I'm very happy with it. I protect my expensive bicycle with it. I know that I can cut this Chain with my 49" heavy bolt cutter or with an angle grinder, but normally the thefts uses smaller bolt cutters and will fail! I saw a video that show that this Chain resists against 36" bolt cutters. This shows me that this Chain is very good quality and I can absolute recommend to any one that will protect his bicycles with more security compared to other Chains. The Service is very good and I surprised about the fast shipping to my home Country Switzerland. At last all sizes of the Pragmasis Protector Security Chains have the best quality I know and I will recommend to all my friends.

I bought a 13mm protectot chain as we have quite a few bikes in our garage and thefts are on the increase in my area. This was perfect for my needs! Great service too.

I am building a new home for the bikes and needed the best so having used the shed shackle and various bits of other manufacturers kit it was time for some proper security - a good ground anchor and and 3 metres of this chain with a noose loop should be enough to frighten off anyone. Impeccable service and a beautiful, "does what it says on the tin" product at a fair price - what more do you want ?!

I bought this chain at 0,8m, small and lightweight, but good security at a great price. I will recommend it for scooters and motorcycles when you shop, and things that don't take long time. Beats other chains of same size or bigger.

I have purchased a couple of chains (11 and 13) and a shed shackle for securing the family's growing bicycle collection. Very pleased with the quality. The chains look the part, which I think is half the battle. I also really like the padlocks.

Having seen an cheapish (£50) chain in pieces in a Holborn motorcycle shop, following some kids with a pair of croppers nicking a scooter outside, I decided I needed a better chain. I now have my triumph locked with a 16mm protector chain at home and 13mm when out and about. They are high quality and if you keep them off the ground they will provide the best protection you can get a reasonable cost. Helpful people and good service too.

Arrived quickly and was given good advice, to be used when touring! Nice quality chain and sheath, this is the heaviest I would want at the 1.2 metre length, but the noose arrangement makes it very adaptable when needed. i value my bike! Excellent service as ever from pragmasis. Would thoroughly recommend.

I bought the 4m length of this chain after using string to work out how long it needed to be to go through 4 bikes in a bike circle - 4m is just right. The chain looks very heavy and well made - much stronger than expensive ones from Oxford and Abus I previously owned. I've now ordered a 2.5m one for another shed! Anyone thinking they the 16mm for bicycles needn't worry - this is definitely strong enough and thicker than the majority of motorbike locks, let alone bicycle ones. I also googled this and reviews are consistently great - would strongly recommend.

Bought this chain along with the recommended lock and a shed shackle after having our shed broken into twice last year and bikes taken both times. The shed was broken into again last night but bikes still there!!!! Does exactly as they say

Like one of the other comments here - I feel like a fraud for reviewing a product that hopefully won't be compromised.

Feels a bit fraudulent posting a review of the chain on this site as like most of the other reviewers I have no idea how secure the chain actually is. Bit like insurance really, you hope never to actually find out.
Having said which it does seem very beefy, fits the padlock well and should be good.
Steve at Pragmasis is great to deal with and their service is excellent.
The only really useful bit of info I can give is BUY A CHAIN LONGER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED. I bought a 2.5m length against my better judgement and it turned out to be frustratingly short for locking two bikes securely to the front axle of the van, or for locking four bikes (all wheels) to a fence etc.
I coughed up again and bought a 4m lock which is brilliantly easy to use, no need to jam the bikes together to get the chain round.

It's as strong as it could be. If someone breaks it then they are determined. Customer service cannot be faulted in any way, excellent.

Ended up going with Security for bikes because of the informative website and practical details around bicycle security for high value bikes. The cycle sites don't seem to cater for this and motorbike security advice isnt always applicable.

Had considered a 16mm chain prior to reading the advice here. So glad I didn't. The 13mm is massive and only just goes through rear wheel and triangle of my road bike. Went for a noose chain too which was great way to save a bit of money on length of chain I needed. Not seen any one else do this.

P&P also very reasonable and came within 48hr of ordering

I bought this due to the recommendation by cycling plus and the Police.
The chain is well made, nicely finished and certainly looks the part.
I am pleased with it though, obviously, I will only know if it works when the bike does not get stolen.

Got my 120cm, 13mm chain this weekend, and it is a seriously solid chain.

Making my "old" Oxford XL 12mm chain look a bit flimsy/tiny. Seems to weigh about the same as the Oxford chain I got with same length, but feels much more solid.

Great service everything was on point delivery was lightning fast. The chain is absolutely superb. All in a very worthwhile investment.

I did a fair bit of research regarding chains for protecting my bike. There's really only a couple of manufacturers worth considering. Pragmasis promptly responded to any of emails, while the same can't be said for their main competitor.

Even with the added cost of shipping to Australia, the total price was still lower than what our local retailers were charging for vastly inferior chains.

If you want to make your bike a difficult target, Pragmasis is the best way to go. Great customer service. Thanks

Ordered this Tuesday, safely received by midday Wednesday. Looks like a great product, let's hope it doesn't get tested but I'm sure if it is it will stand up to it!

I've got a rival brand hexagonal 11mm chain & lock & it seems flimsy in comparison but the Protector is not at all unwieldy

Ordered via telephone. Very helpful advice on which gauge chain to buy and it came within 48 working hours. Used one of these chains previously and it saved equipment at a recent burglary when other chains were bolt cut.

Got this chain for my mountain bike, so glad I read the 'What chain size' before as I was thinking of going for the heavier 16mm chain but after getting the 13mm chain I can see that there would be no way for a bigger chain to fit between the spokes. This 13mm chain is super heavy and this together with the Torc ground anchor and the Squire padlock my bike should be able to withstand anything that is thrown at it. Great service and delivery too!
