I had a break-in my car and my hand bag, with all my personal documents and keys, where stolen. Very unpleasant situation! Among other stuff, I was very much concerned about my two bicycles, stored and secured in my basement with two 13mm chains, Maxi Shackle and padlocks. Within a few days Mr. Stephen Briggs send me two, brand new lock cylinders for Squire SS50CS padlock via post, with a instructions how to swap them by myself. It was easily to do, and I sleep now much better.

Very impressed by the customer service involved in buying everything. Padlock feels bombproof but very easy to use. Only downfall is that the eyelet has only enough room for one chain link (rather than chaining both ends toghether)(I bought the 13mm) but was worked around by adopting a different chaining technique. Would still buy another! [Pragmasis Note: The chaining technique, of interlocking the end links of the chain first and only putting a single link into the lock, is recommended because it allows the use of a closed shackle padlock, which is much more secure than the open shackle alternative.]

A friend of mine had all his bikes stolen from his garage during the night.

This is the second SS50CS I have bought and ordered this one keyed alike to the earlier one. This was straighforward and works well. I have other chains, D lock and ground anchor from Pragmasis and they are straightforward to deal with, communicate well re order updates and the products are very strong. Also liked to read about their environmental contributions in th e woodlands etc.
