Our hardened steel security chains differ from a normal chain as they have been produced using an alloy to improve their strength and heat-treated and coated to further strengthen the chain against sawing and bolt-cropping. A quality chain provides a great layer of security against common attack methods. The chain thickness you choose depends on a few factors: portability, price and performance against attack. All of our chains will resist freeze attacks, sledgehammers, angle grinders and bolt croppers. If you want a strong but portable chain, our recommendation is to go for the Protector 13mm. When it comes to home security, we recommend the Protector 16mm and 19mm chains.
