Testing, Reviews & Real-World Use

We welcome independent scrutiny of our products. Over the years, Pragmasis chains, locks and ground anchors have been tested by Sold Secure and put to the test by specialist motorcycle and cycling publications. We value those outside assessments because customers should be able to look beyond our own claims when choosing security.

Independent reviews and real-world use

Specialist cycling and motorcycle publications have put Pragmasis products to the test. Their reviews give customers an outside view of performance and usability:

• Cycling Plus, 2010 — awarded Best Buy ratings to Protector chains and Editor's Choice to the Torc ground anchor. This link is to our report of the magazine test.
• BikeRadar, 2014 — reviewed a 13mm Protector chain with a Squire Stronghold padlock, including hand-tool attacks.
• Bennetts BikeSocial, 2017 — tested a 19mm Protector chain and RoundLock against bolt croppers, a hammer and an angle grinder.

Sold Secure testing

We have submitted a range of products to Sold Secure for assessment, with several achieving Gold or Diamond approval. A grade records the result achieved by a particular product under a particular test specification. Approval is maintained through annual audits; where we have not renewed an audit, the approval has expired, while the original test result remains part of that product's history.

We give product-specific testing histories on the relevant product pages, including the grade achieved and when approval ended. Current certification is identified separately where a product holds it.

A rating does not mean a product is theft-proof or suitable for every situation. The tools and attack methods covered vary by category and grade, so it is worth looking beyond the badge when choosing your security.
