Our most commonly asked questions
How do I know which length of security chain I need?
We recommend that you put your item (motorcycle, bicycle, generator etc) to be secured in a trial position and then loop a piece of rope (or string if you don't have any rope) through and measure the length. Remember to factor in a ground anchor or similar and pass the rope through this.
Also remember a chain won't flex like a piece of rope will. We recommend you add 10% to your measured length for a more accurate estimated of the required chain length.
Bear in mind that chains are quite bulky and it is often impossible to pass them through the frame of a motorbike, but you must instead go through the swingarm/wheel and/or over the saddle.
A chain and lock should ideally be held off the ground for best security (a lock that is on the ground can be hit with a sledgehammer whereas it will be impossible to apply the same force if it is hanging in mid-air. The same goes for angle-grinders; it is very difficult to try and grind a lock or chain if it's hanging free and not on the ground.
This product is out of stock. When will it be back?
We do our best to forecast product demand but sometimes we do sell out. If the product you want has sold out, there will be an option on the product page to sign up to be notified when the product is back in stock.
As soon as we book the new batch into our system, you will get an email, letting you know the product is back in stock.
Which couriers do you use?
We use DHL and Parcelforce for virtually all of our UK deliveries. For international orders, we also use Fedex and UPS.
DHL normally deliver Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm. They occasionally deliver on Saturdays but your tracking link will let you know when you should expect your parcel.
Parcelforce can deliver seven days a week, up to 9pm at night. Again, check your tracking link for the latest updates on where your parcel is and when it is likely to be delivered.
No deliveries will be made on Bank or Public Holidays.
Will you be producing more Noose chains?
Our Noose chains are popular and sell out fast. We do have some lengths in stock but we are working on another new batch of chains in all the gauges and lengths that are currently out of stock.
These new chains should be completed late February 2026.
You will be able to sign up and get a notification when the new Noose chains are in stock.
I live abroad. Do you ship overseas?
We have a simple way to ship to our customers outside of the UK.
We recommend a parcel forwarding service such as: www.forward2me.com
We have no affiliation with this company. There may be other similar services available in your country.
These freight forwarding services allow you to use a virtual UK address to place an order through our website. We then ship your goods to that address and the forwarding company will send the goods on to you.
The advantage is that you can choose your courier and delivery service and we can dispatch your order quicker. These companies are experts at paperwork and customs and their prices are very close to what we'd expect to pay when booking direct with a courier.
Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you, we do not have control over these charges and cannot predict what they will be.
Customs policies vary widely from country to country. If in doubt, you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse the delivery, then you will be responsible for the full costs of sending and returning the parcel to us.
We cannot falsify invoices to mitigate customs charges, this is illegal and we simply won't do it.
