I have a 19mm chain which I wanted to pass over the engine on my XT660X but it just wouldn't quite go. I didn't want to use such a high quality chain round a weak point, ie wheel. then I saw this pinch pin, which still allows me to lock my bike the way I wanted to and solved the problem perfectly.. Used the 250mm pin on my 2011 BMW R1200GSA, used this through the hole in the rear wheel through the swing arm. This baby is not going anywhere! the chain used on this was the almax V series 19mm and fits onto the anti-pinch pin with ease. no more messing about with a fiddly chain through the wheel

Today, I took delivery of a reassuringly heavy box of "Peace of mind". It took the form of a 1.5m 19mm Protector chain, Squire lock and 340mm Anti-Pinch Pin from Pragmasis.

As many others have stated, "This thing is a beast!". All in, it weighs 13kg, so definitely only for use in a permanent place like the garage or at work; there is no way you will be commuting with it.
In order to keep everything tight and keep the chain off the ground, I have opted to pass the pin through an intermediate link, leaving a couple of spare links dangling off the pin. By ordering the larger chain (1.5m as opposed to what would have been an ideal 1.2m) I have more options should I ever get a different bike.

The DRZ400 needs a 340mm Anti Pinch Pin, which passes horizontally through between the engine and the frame, entering below the exhaust and exiting on the other side, just below the radiator hose. In my pictures, it looks cumbersome to lock up but it's really not. While crouching down next to the bike, the pin (which is already through one end of the chain) is pushed through the frame. Then reaching through under the forks, the other end of the chain is easily hooked over the far end of the pin. Standing up, it is then simply a case of reaching over the seat and applying the padlock.
Unlocking the bike is simple; reach over, remove the padlock, then just pull out the Anti Pinch Pin.
Having the lock positioned between the bike and a wall also makes it more difficult to tamper with the lock.

£200+ is a lot of money to spend on "a bit of chain" and I am the kind of person who tries to save money, so blowing this much when I already had a chain was a big thing for me. My justification was that, so long as my bike is locked up with this thing, it is going nowhere and I will never need to pay my Theft excess which is £250. Even if the most determined thieving scumbag gets past my various other alarms and locks and gets into my garage, they will have to be in there for a good long time, making a lot of noise, to even have a chance of taking my bike. I can now sleep soundly in the knowledge that my bike is safe.

One last note, the Squire SS65CS-XLN padlock which is used with this setup is guaranteed for 10 years. The chain and pin are guaranteed uncroppable by hand and will probably outlast humanity. So, EVEN IF the lock falls apart in a decade, you will have paid less than £25 per YEAR to guarantee that your bike can't be stolen by some scumbag wielding a set of massive croppers. Think about that for a moment. Buying this kit is an absolute no brainer!

For me this really is only one way to secure my Ducati 899. My original pin went missing, I was so impressed with the quality of the first one and with the experience I'd already had with Pragmasis, I had no qualms at all in re-ordering. This is an ingenious product, simple, but truly effective. I have used it with a Protector 16mm Chain, a Double Doofer and a Squire SS65CS Stronghold Padlock, my new BMW 1200GSA is as secure as it gets. I have also used this through the frames of other motorbikes as this product comes in various sizes. Absolutely brilliant.

Excellent product, 440mm pin will squeeze through the rear suspension linakges on a 2010 S1000RR, greatly increasing security compared to just looping the chain through the rear wheel. Recommended, you'll sleep better at night too.

I was looking for a security system to protect my new BMW Gs ADV and I finally bought a 16 mm chain with an anti pinch pin and a Squire Padlock. The pin fits perfectly trough the hole in the rear axle and combined with the massive chain gives a real feeling of security even leaving the bike parked for many hours. I use a 290mm pin through the rear axle of my R1200RT. It makes securing it to the Torc ground anchor much easier, and more secure.

Bought this last week after bike stolen from outside front door (horses and bolting I know)with protector 16 mm chain and new ground anchor. The pin is a fantastic product: extremely well made, goes through my speed triple back axle, locks easily into chain and squire padlock. And service was excellent .. The Anti-Pinch Pin is a great product - just what I needed to make my bike more secure. It takes no time at all to attached and lock - in my case just slipping through the rear axle. Great service too. I thought some chain links would be useful to take up the spare room on the pin and prevent access to a cutting disc, and I received them next day.

This pin is huge and heavy. The squire padlock is a close fit to the end of the pin, and is exceptionally secure.

I can't see how this pin could ever be cut. It's an inch thick solid steel. It makes every other security product I've seen look like a toy.

(Note from Pragmasis: It's actually 23mm thick so not quite as much as an inch, but it is a close thing!)

After some failures with other products, Stephen supplied a host of useful information and suggestions to come up with a workable solution, the Pin was perfect.
Steve's helpfulness was invaluable and I'm now happy that we found the best possible solution for a difficult fitting bike.
I cannot recommend the anti-pinch pin enough, highly recommended.

I have a Supermotard and the pin is easily deployed through the frame. Being such a light machine this device gives me the extra reach I need to secure the 2mtr 16mm protector I bought to go with it.

I also bought the protective sleeve. It's a doddle to fit and protects my paintwork nicely. If near an exhaust wait 10 mins! Common sense...

I just bought a new bike and even though it came with a top of the range alarm I wanted to make sure I could physically lock it down too. Purchased a new bike but my Protector 19mm Chain would no longer fit through the frame of the bike.

Rang up Pragmasis who recommended me an Anti-Pinch pin, I ordered a 440mm with sleeve which suited my requirements.

Great piece of kit and it gives me piece of mind that my bike will be safe overnight.

Pins fitted to two bikes & are excellent quality. No need to loop the chain round a wheel, which makes the bikes' security much stronger & prevents damage to the wheel's paint. The help & advice from Steve takes customer care to a level which would be difficult to match & impossible to surpass.

Already had a Pragmasis 16mm chain (see review there) and was very pleased with it. Having changed bikes from an 848 to a Sprint GT there was no longer an obvious way to loop the chain around the frame. So yesterday I called in the afternoon to order a pin to go through the Trumpet's rear axle. Exceptional customer service again - patient advice on pin measurements, what to check for on the bike and lock etc. and the pin arrived at 10am the next day!

With a VFR800 VTec the pin is fed through the rear swing arm, make a hell of a difference in security with this bad boy attached to one of their 16mm chains.

I bought the size recommended for my VFR and it's a great fit and certainly makes locking the bike up easier as others said no more trying to feed the chain through tight sections of the bike.

I "customised" my bike cover as well so that the APP goes through that as well so there's no chance it'll get "blown away"
