This is the best Hasp & Staple I have ever seen; it’s massive and gives real piece of mind. It’s so heavy and strong nothing is going to move it. I have just purchased a couple more of these and will be getting some more soon. I use them in conjunction with the Squire SS65CS Stronghold Padlock to secure heavyweight barn doors, both wooden and steel, just a great combination.

After a spate of garage burglaries in the area I fitted the garage with an HS1 & Squire padlock. While (thankfully) it has yet to be put to the test, the sheer size should deter most potential thieves. It doesn't have to be impregnable - just better than the next potential target.

Purchased and fitted to a garden shed; the product is very robust. Easy to understand fitting instructions and prompt delivery; overall pleased with the product and service.

I did quite a lot of research before finally deciding on the HS1 and my research proved correct. This is a high quality product and will deter intruders. They would have to destroy the shed door before this gave up. Excellent advice from the supplier and fast delivery.

Seriously hefty hasp and lock - more than ample to deter any shed burglar. Delivered promptly and well packaged.

I have had two visits within six months to my garage by nasty people.
The damage caused was huge i needed a new door frame and door after one visit. So i now have this HS1 and a big close shackle lock on the door. This should stop any further visits and keep them outside.

Cannot fault the quality of the product as stated in many reviews. But I am surprised nobody mentioned the price. Compared to other heavy duty H&S products it is a much more expensive (& other accessories are as well) . Hence the three stars.
[Pragmasis Comment: I'm glad you are pleased with the quality. I wonder if your comment about pricing relates to lower-grade products that are described by their sellers as "Heavy Duty". Our HS1 is CEN4 rated. Very few other hasps have this rating. The Abus 130 hasp, as one example, is commonly sold at around £70 inc VAT, which is much dearer than the HS1. Several other products have very inferior construction, such as a staple folded out of thin sheet and often poor/insufficient fixings. We designed the HS1 to be tougher and frankly better thought-out than all the competing products we could find anywhere near this price point.]

This is very secure and solid. I just fitted it to my new wooden 6x8 shed. I brought it in a package deal with the squire pad lock. I think just the size and look of it says "don't bother" to would be theives! Bery Happy

I recently purchased the HS1 Hasp and Staple, and also the Squire SS50CS padlock to much-enhance the security arrangements for a very recently purchased and installed top-range garden shed. The quality of the products are exceptional, as was also the very rapid delivery of the items. Installation was straightforward and the shed security is now very greatly enhanced. I am truly delighted.

Just fitted the Heavy Duty Hasp & Staple with the padlock on our shed door after someone had tried to break open the door (probably with the intention of stealing our bikes). The quality is excellent, heavy duty & hard -wearing. As I'm no DIY-er, I was concerned about installation, but the instructions were clear and straightforward. We managed to fit the hasp & staple in such a way that it would be hard to get a crowbar in again. Our shed feels much safer & secure now.

I've just fitted the HS1 Hasp & Staple, together with a recommended padlock combination, and I'm very impressed. The HS1 is much better quality than the cheaper ones available elsewhere on line, and looks to be a proper deterrent. The fitting instructions were comprehensive and easy to follow, and fitting was very easy.

Fitted to my garage door. With recommended Squire padlock. The weakest part is the actual door now!
Really hefty and solid, made the original ones look like Micky Mouse metal!
They came with all the right bolts and drill bits.
There should be an option for screws to select if you're screwing straight into thick wood joists though as there's only bolts supplied.

Re the option for screws, it isn't possible to give the same level of fixing with wood screws as you can get with a bolt going right through the timber and a nut on the inside, as that can't be pulled out without destroying the timber. A wood screw can be prised out relatively easily. Anti-tamper screws make no difference to this as they can still be pulled out just as easily. So, if you have thick timbers, the best approach is to drill right through and use bolts that are long enough to reach. We offer the HS1 with bolt options up to 150mm long, which is normally plenty. Very heavy duty... I checked the offerings at the local DIY store and there was no comparison - this is considerably heavier and feels much more solid.

I bought this along with Stronghold Padlock to bolster my shed security. This is a solid bit of kit and makes the old lock that came with the shed look flimsy. Easy to install so would recommend.

Absolutely brilliant deterrent just by size and quality alone.Great communication and delivered on time.Fixing it to the door was a breeze.Probably the weakest part of my garage door is my garage door now.

My shed had a very flimsy hasp and shackle on it and with expensive bikes inside I decided I needed to prevent any opportunist thief armed with a crowbar getting inside - the HS1, coupled with Pragmasis' door beef-up kit, is just the job for this. Both products' fitting kits came with HSS drill bits and very detailed instructions and were simple to install, so with a very secure shed inside and out, I am a very happy customer!

Had a shed built and bought this along with the Squire padlock (which annoyingly is now sold as a set £30 cheaper than what I paid. But that’s life!) and also some hinge beef up kits. Would highly recommend all products. Came with good instructions and everything you need, easy to fit, very well built and look really strong. Will definitely be back if I need anything in the future
