Arrived quickly and was given good advice, to be used when touring! Nice quality chain and sheath, this is the heaviest I would want at the 1.2 metre length, but the noose arrangement makes it very adaptable when needed. i value my bike! Having seen an cheapish (£50) chain in pieces in a Holborn motorcycle shop, following some kids with a pair of croppers nicking a scooter outside, I decided I needed a better chain. I now have my triumph locked with a 16mm protector chain at home and 13mm when out and about. They are high quality and if you keep them off the ground they will provide the best protection you can get a reasonable cost. Helpful people and good service too.

I have purchased a couple of chains (11 and 13) and a shed shackle for securing the family's growing bicycle collection. Very pleased with the quality. The chains look the part, which I think is half the battle. I also really like the padlocks.

I bought this chain at 0,8m, small and lightweight, but good security at a great price. I will recommend it for scooters and motorcycles when you shop, and things that don't take long time. Beats other chains of same size or bigger.

Big fan of the company, products and service. Having long used their heavy duty 19mm chain and SS65C lock at home, I asked about suitable portable chains (19mm way too beefy to carry round). As usual great advice and service and I got this 13mm chain on advice from David at Pragmasis. As per his suggestion I got 1.5m length with the noose end so it can work over longer distances whilst still being portable. I use it with the excellent round lock which is very tough but highly portable. Nothing will stop a determined well equipped thief but this combo is practical to carry and use and will make them think twice and hopefully look for an easier target instead. It’s a lot cheaper (and less hassle) than having to get a new bike when your pride and joy is stolen…

I have purchased 3 of these 13mm chains over the last few years and they have proven to be very durable, resistant to rust and corrosion (I keep them in situ outdoors year round). The size and weight of the chains act as a very effective deterrent to cycle thieves. Whilst many other bicycles have been stolen in both locations used, my Pragmasis chains have ensured that my bike is not an easy target. Great products at reasonable prices (not cheap - but a bike costs alot more to replace!)

Parcel arrived in The Netherlands in two days.
The 13mm chain 1,2m length is light enough to be carried in a pannier.
Except for the 13mm chain I also got the 16mm and two keyed alike D-locks. Various ways to use the D-locks, I think they provide more flexibility than padlocks.
Note that 16mm is quite heavy - to be used only for home parking.
All products seem very high quality.

I ordered the longer 2.5m chain to replace a shorter one due to acquiring more bicycles and the new chain is of the same high quality as the previous one. It works very well with the Torc ground anchor and Squire lock.

I purchased the 2m 13mm chain with noose ending. The noose ending is very convenient, and greatly increases the versatility of the chain. I am using it to secure two bicycles, attached at one end to a wall mounted anchor, and using the Squire SS50CS lock at the other end.

The chain seems VERY robust. To be honest, the weakest link by far is my anchor, so I don't think any thief would bother with this chain. They would almost definitely damage the bicycles beyond sale-ability if they did. I also loop the chain around the wheel + main triangles so that, even if they remove the anchor they would still have great inconvenience moving the bikes.

Obviously I cannot accurately attest to the full security of this device, because no one has tried breaking it yet!

I would emphasize an obvious piece of advice - make sure all the various links in your security system are well-matched, otherwise you may be wasting your money on the top chain. e.g. consider the 11mm chain for added portability.

Bought the 2m chain with a loop on the end.

It's a solid product and not as heavy as expected, so is fine to thread through a number of bike frames.

This is not a criticism by any means but as the links are pretty chunky, the lock I had wouldn't close around the standard links, so it was a good excuse to upgrade the padlock too :-)

This 13mm chain is the best. The 2 meter chain is long enough to go through both wheels, the frame and a bike rack or lamp-post. 2 meters is quite heavy (6kg) but is much easier to handle than the 16mm, and it fits through the spokes.

I would say this chain is also suitable for cheaper motorbikes, particularly in small towns around the country.

The nice folk at Mahon Engineering (Ireland) supplied the chain, and changed the 16mm for the 13mm once I realized the larger chain was too heavy and conspicuous for a bicycle. [Pragmasis Comment: Mahon Engineering/North West Locks Strabane are our Northern Ireland stockist.]

The only disadvantage for me is that the red sleeve is very noticeable on my bike, so I'm going to cut up a green camo t-shirt and use the material to disguise some of the red and the shiny silver padlock.

I am using an Abloy 362 padlock, its a bit overkill I know, but my bike is so secure now, there is more chance of me dropping the padlock and killing the bike with that, than there is of someone stealing the thing.

If you want to lock your bicycle and walk away with confidence, get a 13mm Protector.
I'm sure it can also be used to lock up Godzilla should he wander into your back garden, at least until you can call the dog pound.

Having started with Amazon for locks I found my way to Pragmasis via recommendation and bought the 13mm chain and SS50CS Squire lock. Both arrived very rapidly and are spot on - the chain is very solidly constructed and feels indestructible. I've since come back to buy the ground anchor, a 15mm chain and a anti-pinch pin - I'll post reviews of each once installed and in use.

I've been using a Pragmasis 22mm Titan Chain and Roundlock partnered with a Sub Major ground anchor for home security for the last year. To improve my out and about touring security, I've opted for a 13mm chain to accompany my Roundlock and my high quality alarmed disk lock. Following a successful year (and many more to come I am sure!) of security at home with my home set-up, I've a high level of confidence in these products keeping my bike safe away from home! Bought this following Bennetts reviews and the advice of Pragmasis' David, who is clearly very knowledgeable. He just asked "what bike is this for," and immediately knew what would work and what wouldn't. He advised on chain length, and lock and how to secure the bike with them. I am very pleased with the results. I am glad I followed his advice, the chain is big and heavy and a larger one wouldn't have fitted the application. I ended up buying also the RoundLock and the Torc, which are also excellent. I will review them separately.

I bought the 2m with noose end so that it can fit around my brick gate post (rented property, so a ground anchor is not permitted). It works perfectly. Very well made and works with the Roundlock I bought at the same time. Amazing customer service from David who is committed to great customer service.

I was after a chain and padlock to secure my motorcycle to an Oxford Rota Force ground anchor. Unfortunately the loop in that anchor won't accept a 16mm chain so I opted for the 13mm chain. The added advantage of this is that is fits through the hole in the rear axle,of my R1200GS. I feel this is a better option than threading through the frame as well. I bought a package with the Squire padlock as well - and a great padlock it is. I wish I had checked this company out beforehand then Inwoikd also have bought their Torc ground anchor - bugger! I purchased a 2m chain and would definitely recommend getting a slightly longer chain than you think you need to give more flexibility. The service from Pragmasis was fantastic - personal emails to advise of despatch and ordering. I didn't call them, but I am sure they would offer the right advice to ensure you choose the right solution for your needs.

Having just retired we decided to purchase 2 new Electric Bikes. These will be kept in an outbuilding on our property. We purchased a 13mm protector chain which is fastened with an anchor to a brick wall, the other end connected to a good quality Abus D lock. The chain is top quality with a sturdy sleeve. It would probably be too heavy to carry on a bike but as it is a permanent fixture weight doesn't matter. Although the chain is fairly expensive (as are the Abus D locks)in security you only get what you pay for. Cheap products are a false economy. Very satisfied customer.

I have no worries about the security of my high value bikes with this chain coupled with the Torc ground anchor and Squire lock. Brilliant!

This is a great chain for bicycles. More practical than the 16mm as this will fit throw the wheel spokes a bit easier. This is the second one I have bought and the quality and service has been great from David. The keyed alike facility is excellent too and David was very helpful. Fully recommended.

Bought this lock in 2-metre flavour with a noose end to slow down any scum who take a fancy to my mountain bikes.

I have it through am Oxford ground anchor on the wall, then through 3 bikes.

Seems very well made and the red cover is really nice quality.

Can't comment on how easy it is to break and hopefully I never will, but it's certainly a deterrent I'd say.

Living in a high crime rate area of Leeds I have bought two Protector 13mm Chains and a Squire Padlock to secure a number of high value road and mountain bikes which are stored in a basement. Comparing the Protector 13mm chain to other "sold secure" chains available for high street bike stores makes the other chains look a little on the flimsy side!
