After a terrible purchase experience at Almax, I called David at Pragmasis who advised me on the Protector 13mm and 16mm chains which comes highly recommended by reputable motorcycle security product reviews. In addition to the 16mm chain with roundlock I bought the 13mm chain for when I’m out and about. This chain is relatively light for me to carry (I’m female) for frequent use with my motorbike.

David was very responsive to an order query, shipment was fast and the chain itself (black colour) seems formidable and good value for the size and quality. As specified it fits a Kryptonite Fahgeddaboutit Mini U-lock to chain up a few moderately expensive bicycles in a locked garage. Hopefully it won't be tested.

I bought this to complement my existing Kryptonite lock, for times when the lock isn't large enough to attach my bike to lampposts, etc. It's clearly very strong, and I'm confident that it would both deter a thief, and resist any attack. I recommend it.

My 13mm chain arrived next morning via ParcelForce. Promptly fitted to my motorcycle for instant peace of mind. Secured with a RL21 Roundlock. I reckon that will put the casual thief off as soon as they see the security. The 13mm chain - in black- is a good deterrent.

I had 10mm chains on my other bikes but recently got something a bit more expensive so decided this would suit my needs along with a torc anchor. The fact that it's only 3mm bigger doesnt do it justice. Knowing this will have a lifetime of daily use makes it a worthwhile investment. 10/10

Ordered a 2m 13mm chain on Monday afternoon and had it arrived on Wednesday morning. Chain is exactly as described and was really well packaged

Big fan of the company, products and service. Having long used their heavy duty 19mm chain and SS65C lock at home, I asked about suitable portable chains (19mm way too beefy to carry round). As usual great advice and service and I got this 13mm chain on advice from David at Pragmasis. As per his suggestion I got 1.5m length with the noose end so it can work over longer distances whilst still being portable. I use it with the excellent round lock which is very tough but highly portable. Nothing will stop a determined well equipped thief but this combo is practical to carry and use and will make them think twice and hopefully look for an easier target instead. It’s a lot cheaper (and less hassle) than having to get a new bike when your pride and joy is stolen…

I bought the 2m with noose end so that it can fit around my brick gate post (rented property, so a ground anchor is not permitted). It works perfectly. Very well made and works with the Roundlock I bought at the same time. Amazing customer service from David who is committed to great customer service.

I've been using a Pragmasis 22mm Titan Chain and Roundlock partnered with a Sub Major ground anchor for home security for the last year. To improve my out and about touring security, I've opted for a 13mm chain to accompany my Roundlock and my high quality alarmed disk lock. Following a successful year (and many more to come I am sure!) of security at home with my home set-up, I've a high level of confidence in these products keeping my bike safe away from home! Pragmasis comms, timing, service and superb quality of items is exceptional. Thank you.

Though there are even sturdier models, the 13 mm one I got is already very good for my electric bike in combination with my DIB D-Locks. The chain is heavy. The noose version is really worth the money. Thanks for the detailed explanation on the site (text and videos) as well as for the profesional-quality service.
Même s'il existe des modèles encore plus massifs, celui de 13 mm que j'ai acheté est déjà très bien pour mon vélo électrique combiné aux antivols en U (DIB D-locks). Cette chaîne est lourde. La version "noose", avec un anneau plus large à une extrémité, vaut vraiment la dépense supplémentaire. Feels a bit fraudulent posting a review of the chain on this site as like most of the other reviewers I have no idea how secure the chain actually is. Bit like insurance really, you hope never to actually find out.
Having said which it does seem very beefy, fits the padlock well and should be good.
Steve at Pragmasis is great to deal with and their service is excellent.
The only really useful bit of info I can give is BUY A CHAIN LONGER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED. I bought a 2.5m length against my better judgement and it turned out to be frustratingly short for locking two bikes securely to the front axle of the van, or for locking four bikes (all wheels) to a fence etc.
I coughed up again and bought a 4m lock which is brilliantly easy to use, no need to jam the bikes together to get the chain round.
