Brilliant service and a beast of a chain, designed to shackle dragons.

Perfect for stationary purposes. I use the noose chain which locks the entire bike. A bit bulky but the chain of choise whenever I have to lock my bike for a longer period. Can only be cut by a plasma cuter or similar devises.

Before the Protector I was limply draping an Oxford Monster through my front wheel and securing it with another Oxford Boss Alarm disc lock. To be fair to Oxford, I like the disc lock and still use it as one of two disc locks - the other being an ABUS Granit Sledg 77 - alongside the Protector for home use.

I went for the 2.0m chain and after a lot of fiddling and experimenting with how to make use of all of it, it's the perfect fit for the MT-07; slotting one end through the hole in the swing-arm from the outside, and then wrapping the rest of it in a figure 8 around and over the saddle, and finally back down and through the back wheel, it meets the links threaded through the swing-arm almost precisely. Took a while to perfect, there's only a few centimetres of play to fit the Squire lock, but then there's zero play in the chain either.

It weighs a fair amount, but that's most certainly a positive rather than a negative. How can you objectively rate a security product? It's either a 5 star, as in you've still got your bike, or you don't and it's a 1 star! It gives me greater peace of mind, and my ride does get stolen then I'll have to tip my hat to the thieving miscreant; they must have REALLY wanted it.

I purchased this chain 16mm 2m rather than the 19mm chain thinking as well as using it to secure my bike whilst in the garage, i could take it with me to secure it whilst out and about...Wrong! This chain is HUGE! and heavy, too heavy i would say to cart it about on the bike. This chain makes the OXFORD and GRANIT chains look very feeble. I am using a KASP 19070X and Abloy 362 which i think are a good match with this chain. I should also mention customer service was first class.

Over a year ago I ordered a few package deals consisting of a 16mm Protector Chain, Squire SS56CS lock, Anti-Pinch Pin and Torc Ground Anchor. I received great advice from David before purchase, superb communication whilst sorting out the keyed-alike padlocks and the lot was delivered on a day that suited me. Great service and superb products.

Great chain for home use. Feels indestructible but isn't terribly portable. I use it to secure a valuable Ifor Williams trailor through a massive ground anchor and it feels totally secure. Pairs well with an Abloy 350 or 362. Great service from pragmasis.

The sales response was excellent. We coordinated the delivery to Australia to coincide with my personal needs (I was away from home for a time). The product is rock solid and works very well with the Torc ground anchor. I recommend the company and its products unconditionally.

i ordered a 16mm protector chain from security for bikes, very pleased with the product. ( i reckon you could tow a ship with one of these chains)....has got to be the ultimate security chain on the market.....i can see me buying a few more of these,...as well as some of the other products

I bought one of those 16mm chain and I am very impressed by the quality of it.
I have bought it to lock my Vespa at night in the street in front of my flat in London [I am locking it to a light pole] and I can say it is a great deterrent for thieves mainly due to the size of it [looks very bulky and heavy and is literally twice the size of any other chain]. I already had one Vespa stolen and I did quite a lot of research to find the very best chain. I am definitely happy with my choice.
A bit heavy to carry around, but I am doing it anyway, worth the peace of mind.

This chain is very well made and extremely tough. A really good product - if you want to lock something up then this will do the job. Quite heavy though (obviously).

Having both my motorcycles stolen from my locked and alarmed garage i really needed peace of mind in the future.
This chain sounds like a BEAST and i feel more comfortable with having it.
It will JUST tap through my anchor which i brought will a little help with a tab of a hammer.

Seems Really good quality, just note it isnt easy to move around so get a longer one if you can.

Best chain i have ever brought, only wish i invested in it sooner....

The 16mm chain is exactly what you'd expect - a serious bit of kit. Use that with the anti-pinch pin and appropriate padlock and you can relax into a good nights sleep, knowing that your bike is safe and will be where you left it when you wake up.

I have used these chains before so know they would do the job in terms of securing my motor bike, but needed some help with delivery options. Received my chain today having worried that I should have ordered the bigger 19mm chain. I needn't have have done so, this chain is much more substantial that it looks on the website and is going to be tough enough for 99% of customers.

Yes these chains are always going to be the part that they are not going to attack as they are very well made and are heavy another indicator of quality.
Would recommend as part of your setup to secure your bike but bear in mind this is the strongest part.
And like the site advises you your setup is only as good as the weakest link.

Make no mistake this chain is a beast. It is going to take some considerable effort to get through this baby...
Yes there are cheaper chains out there but if you take security seriously you are going to have to spend some money. Make sure your anchor and padlock are of a similar standard.
I initially purchased 1m length but returned and exchanged for 2m no problems.

Went shopping and bought a 16mm Chain + Anti-pinch pin + Squire padlock + Ground anchor Torc and I'm impressed with the quality of all products including the fitting instructions, etc. I've spent around 300GBP for everything.. yes it doesn't "look" cheap but neither the motorbike I'm riding so spending 1.5% of the value of the bike in security is not that expensive. Bought a couple of 3m lengths with SS65CS locks to secure collection of bikes in the shed. Mind put at rest with these securing my collection. Quick helpful and efficient service to boot!

The comprehensive explanation on the website was just what I needed to give me the level of security I was looking for. Very helpful staff and the chain appears to be of excellent quality.

I originally bought this (1.5m) chain for a Bicycle, but it is TOO BIG and cumbersome to bring everywhere, and very conspicuous looking because of its size. I have also heard that it doesn't go through the spokes very well.

I would recommend the 16mm chain for an expensive motorbike or a very expensive bicycle at home with a ground anchor. I am confident that the 16mm chain will also hold the Loch Ness Monster or King Kong should you ever need to do that.

For a bicycle I suggest the 13mm chain, much easier to handle and lighter overall. The nice folks at Mahon Engineering sorted me out with a 13mm replacement instead of the big 16mm.

I knew I was buying something that would be robust and offer assured security, I just didn't expect it to be so massive. Fantastic deterrent and I'm sure it will outlast any attack on the high street.
