High quality lock at a good price
- 02/05/2020
Really nicely made lock, and it operates very smoothly which I always think is a sign of quality. Unlike "dale" with the 1-star review, I actually checked that this would fit my bike first.. I mean, why wouldn't you? I assume he's the sort of person that answers Amazon questions with "sorry, don't know"...

I'm using it as a disk lock to replace my venerable Squire ML2L (which back in the day was also considered a good lock). The squire's narrow shackle is awkward to fit to my current bike, but the roundlock slots straight between disk and carrier, and is much easier to use, and more compact to carry. There's also room to thread it through a 'telltale' cable (typically hooked to the clutch lever as a reminder) if required.

I also like the flexibility of being able to use it with a chain in the future if I need to.

I have one suggestion, it might be nice if you could source some kind of carry/storage pouch (the squire has a tough cordura style one). I think this would be really handy to have - especially if using this as just a disk lock rather than with a chain. If I find one that works I'll let you know.
[Pragmasis Comment:]
A carry pouch is an interesting idea. You're the first to suggest that for the RoundLock. I kind of thought it was compact enough to fit in a pocket pretty well as-is and that might be better than having a separate pouch that you also need to carry. It's an interesting idea, though, and we would be grateful if you find anything suitable?
Incidentally, yes, the old ML2L was a pretty good lock. Squire stopped making it when they realised they were actually losing money on every one!
re sold a pack of lies
- 02/05/2020
I would like to make clear that my 1 star was a typo mistake against a previous review.

I only ever deal with Pragmasis for my motorcycle security, the best company and service you will find.

I hope that clears that issue.
[Pragmasis Comment:]
Brill. Thanks for clarifying. The IP address you are using now matches what you used previously so I will change the score on your other comment to match what you've selected here as that reflects your opinion of our products. Thanks again. We really do take all this stuff seriously (and we're still hoping to get in touch with the other chap!).
re 'sold a pack of lies'
- 01/05/2020
There's always one isn't there ?
[Pragmasis Comment:]
We have tried to make contact with that gentleman, repeatedly. Our offer to refund him still stands if he returns his lock in sellable condition.
(People might think we delete all the low scores, but we don't and we never have.) Thanks again for your other comment.
Tiny and robust
- 29/04/2020
Like the heading, it’s sturdy and fits well.
Fingers crossed I’ll never have to find out regarding endurance against attack but great little lock as part of your security.
Great product for great value
- 22/04/2020
Can't beat this product for the price. |The portability especially makes it a winner. The actual pin is quite thick so you will need a sizable aperture in your disk to allow it to fit. Check before you buy.
Sold a pack of lies
- 20/04/2020
Bought this after watching bennetts review that this could be used as a standalone disk lock for any motorbike, it was a lie, it may have fitted that old wheel in the video but it will not fit the modern disks on my yzf r1, i have emailed pragmasis about this but have had no response to date and i expect that i have been sold a lie and had my money stolen based on this lie.
[Pragmasis Comment:]
I'm sorry you got the impression that the RoundLock will fit any motorbike disk. It doesn't. Bennetts do not actually say it will fit any bike and neither do we. Indeed, we say you should:
"Check that you have a suitable opening that will take the 21mm diameter shackle in your brake disc or disc carrier."
The above is directly above the Add to Cart button in our shopping cart. We are sorry you didn't notice what we say about this product as that could have avoided you buying something that won't fit your bike.
You e-mailed us at 6:53pm on 19-Apr-20 and we replied at 10:21am the following morning. We said "There is no problem with you posting it back for a refund." and we stand by that. To date, we have not had any resonse from you. Please check your spam trap in case it is a little enthuastic in its filtering.
Again, we are sorry you felt that you had been given "lies" and feel you have had your money "stolen". I repeat, we have offered to issue a refund if you return the lock to us.
We always try to be very explicit and open in the way we sell our products and apologise for any inconvenience you have suffered.

Bought this lock after seeing a review on youtube from Bennets. Great product, feels very solid, and compact enough to push into my pocket. Looks like it would take some getting off.
I even wrapped some bright electrical tape around the cylinder so it stands out more. Very pleased, and a great price. Link below

Good disc lock
- 22/03/2020
Good disc lock for a number of reasons: Fits in my pocket which gives me no reason not to take with me and actually use the lock, thick pin which is hard to gain access to for disc cutters, fits the Pragmasis chains for double use.
Looks the business to deter opportunist thieves.
awkward roundlock f1?
- 07/03/2020
I dont find any probem using my roundlock at all.....have you tried taking off your gloves?
Review: RL21 and RL21A Socket (for larger chains).
- 24/02/2020
1. Excellent service and communications by Pragmasis.

2. The Roundlock is finely machined and feels good to the hands.

3. The Roundlock, both regular socket and RL21A socket versions, while great to use in practice while sitting on the couch or at your desk, it becomes a bit more difficult when trying to get the Rounlock off your motorcycle's disk, particularly, in the rain and with gloves on isn't nearly as easy, as for example, unlocking a D lock.

The problem stems from being unable to tell which direction the keyhole is facing when you are inserting the key at an angle from your body, as the lip of the lock obscures the hole from view, especially when trying to make unlock the lock in an unwieldy position such as on your motorcycle's disk. So you end up having to do a LOT of key jiggling, or ending up kneeling down to get a good look, which is not nice in the mud or the rain. Plus, by design, the Roundlock is supposed to spin to make it harder for thieves to attack it, but this also means that if you try to twist the key prematurely, the lock spins. I think I will use the Roundlock mainly for locking it to a chain, after pulling the end link of the chain through another link in the chain, and not as a disklock, to ensure I'm not having to bend down and be in such an awkward position to use the Roundlock.

3. The keys' blade areas are good quality and precisely machined, they do not feel sloppy/catchy.

4. The keys' black plastic handle areas are a bit large, I feel, and have unnecessary corners. Please compare and contrast to the plastic handles of the spare keys (not the main key, the Kryptonite's main key's handle is huge and ungainly with a completely pointless light on it) you get with the premium range of Kryptonite D Locks (not their budget range), which are oval, smaller and fit better into pockets.

5. Keyed alike is extremely useful, so I now need to carry 1 key with me instead of 4 or 5.

[Pragmasis Comment: I am sorry you are finding the RoundLock can be awkward to get the key inserted when you are using it as a disclock and are unable to get to a position where you can see what you are doing. Many 'disc detainer' cylinder locks, such as our RoundLock, have the same issue about it being important o get the key fully inserted before you start turning the key, which is why we mention it in our videos, but when you can't see if you've got the key in line with the front of the keyway, could make it more difficult with all similar locks, I suppose. As you said, this is rather by design, as the rotating aspect is important in terms of increasing the resistance to attack by thieves.
Nobody has ever said they find the head of the key too large! We will look at the spare keys you mention on Kryptonite's top-end products, as you suggest, but the fact that their 'main key' is even larger suggests they don't think the size of the key is too much of an issue. Interesting, though, and something we will keep in mind. Others may be concerned if we made the key smaller as it may become difficult to operate when wearing gloves. It can be difficult, as different people have different situations and different priorities. Anything like this has to be a compromise across as many different scenarios as we can cover, but this is all useful feedback for us. Thanks again.]
Great product
- 22/01/2020
I want to secure my bike when out and about so will pair this with the excellent protector noose chain. This is an extremely well thought out product which should keep my property safe and is lighter than the Squire CS 65 I use at home
Great lock
- 31/10/2019
Great lock at a great price.
Service also great - Ordered and delivered within 48hrs.
Would definitely recommend this company.
Great weight too the little bugger
- 16/10/2019
On one hand, i never want a thief trying to steal my bike. On the other hand, i would love to see a confused thief eyeing up this lock.
Outstanding product
- 27/09/2019
I now have two of these, one of which is used with the Pragmasis 16mm chain (also excellent). It's really a nicely designed and engineered bit of kit with its lovely chrome finish and compact dimensions.
Ordering and delivery from securityforbikes.com was hassle free and very fast. Very satisfied all round.
Quality product
- 24/08/2019
A good quality lock, which is easy to transport on a bike as a disc lock.
Compact and very secure.
- 11/07/2019
Purchased one of these locks to go with my 16mm chain which is transported on my scooter so size and weight is really important.
Although small and light this lock is really well made, fits the chain perfectly and I think is probably more secure than a traditional style padlock.
So impressed I bought another one!
Roundlock used as a disc lock
- 13/06/2019
Excellent product. Bought 2 of these, one for my Protector chain but the other as a disc lock. Paid the £4 to ensure both use the same key. Very easy to fit/use, small and compact. Great service from David and the team
Round lock

Brought these from some of the videos and reviews, can’t fault them as padlocks , unfortunately they don’t work on my GS as disk locks. But they are a very good quality product.buying the chain now to suit...
THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ!

Ground anchor, a 2 Metre x 16mm chain and PIN lock.
I have searched the web (eBay, utube, Google, etc.) and I could not find anything better (or equivalent) for cheaper!!
OTHER 16mm chains profess to be “uncroppable” but there are posts and videos that prove otherwise.
I only ever want to buy this kit once, and I hope it is never actually needed. The cost is cheap when compared to a loss of a valuable item, the damage caused, the trauma of the violation and the peace of mind of a purchase that will offset this risk.
I am really looking forward to your kit arriving (in a very nerdy way!)
Thank you so much for your help, technical advice and enthusiastic attitude.

Excellent design
- 28/03/2019
This is a lovely lock.
Small in size, but not in security as the shackle is thick and out of the reach of the thief.
Excellent design and build quality.
Well done chaps.
Ingenious & un-attackable

Bought to fit another brand of 16mm chain (it does) to remove the weak-link padlock I had. Ace!
Solid
- 09/11/2018
Very happy with my roundlock + 13 mm chain combination. Looped around a lamp post and combined with disc lock(s) this is way more protection than most motors have in my city. David gave great advice and was very helpful before and during ordering. Thanks!
Utterly fantastic experience all round

Great service and item fits my chains perfectly highly recommend the company
Round lock and 16mm chain
- 27/08/2018
After a theft of high end bikes from my garage, I researched on the internet and came across this company, the range of products is excellent, a one stop shop for bicycle security. First class products and first class customer service . The round lock is a brilliant invention. Highly recommendable
Very happy
- 20/07/2018
Great Quality,i bought RL21 plus RL21A.
Very happy.Thank you
Great lock - Superb Quality build
- 12/05/2018
Bought it due to all the positive "theft attack" reviews which it has. Received it yesterday and it seems really solid and well made. Works perfectly. Hopefully it´ll last me for long. Recommend 100%.
The SFB Roundlock is an amazing intelligent innovation
- 03/05/2018
In search of an excellent high safety system for securing my bike I found Pragmasis. I am very lucky because it seems there is nothing comparable in whole Austria.
The double doofer ground anchor together with the massive 19mm protector chain and the SS65CS-XLN padlock is a really highest-level protection system. And I think as long as there are so many other bikes less or not additional secured at all, the thieves will choose those bikes instead of mine.
The ground anchor came perfectly packed together with the entire fixing kit. After I fixed it to the concrete floor, I pulled one end of the heavy 19mm chain through. Then I put a SFB RoundLock RL21A through this end link, to make it impossible to pull it back. The RoundLock together combined with the 19mm chain end link is too big to pass the double doofer anchor. Therefore, I have the whole length of the chain available, and don’t need the chain in double length (the chain is really heavy!). On the other end I use the Anti-Pinch Pin together with the SS65CS-XLN padlock to lock the bike.
PERFECT SOLUTION, thanks to Pragmasis for the ideas, the implementation and the highest quality!
Customer service by David Briggs is excellent and very friendly!
Absolutely recommended company!
Best regards, Wolfgang, Vienna
Another great pragmasis product
- 26/04/2018
Got this to use as a disc lock on my triumph rocket 3 and frankly I don’t think a thief would know where to start trying to remove it.
It’s the only lock that will fit under the seat so it gets carried and used everywhere.
I use only pragmasis chains and products for my motorbike and mountain bike security - nothing else comes close.
Excellent kit.
Ideal disc lock at a reasonable price.

I've been using a Roundlock padlock with a 16 mm chain for a short while now, including through winter, and haven't had a problem with it so much so that I decided to buy another one to use as a disc lock.

Lets be clear, however, that a disc lock is essentially a visual deterrent and that, amongst many other things, a thief could simply lift the front end, and thus the bike, into a van if it was parked using only a disc lock and therefore I'd always say use a disc lock and a chain.

And so, as a disc lock, this is set aside from its competitors simply because of its nimbleness and unique design. As opposed to an open shackle vulnerable to all kinds of possible techniques sold from high street bike stores this has the ability to be fitted in reverse so that the lock faces away from the outside of the bike and thus a little harder to attack. Not impossible to remove, mind. Lets not forget that a disc lock on the rear brake or sprocket is more effective than on the front of the bike, albeit slightly weird if you've never heard or done it before.

I've given it four stars because the plastic lid broke of my first one after a while and I won't hold out hope that this one will last any longer. Also four stars because the "keyed alike" option is only available in any one given purchase and instead a database with recorded codes specific to any given key would be preferable and far easier to spread cost over a period of time as not everyone can afford two locks, that they might eventually need, in one go. Also now have two chunky black keys to carry around rather than one, annoying slightly.

Happy purchase and the likes of Pragmasis continue to offer security and decent prices that far outweigh their high street competitors (if you can call them that).

As always continued updates from Pragmasis staff via email as to progress of order in a very efficient time period, much appreciated.
{Pragmasis Comment: Unfortunately it's not a case of recording key numbers in a database. The factory can only make batches of locks, and all with about a 6-month lead time, so doing retrospective Keyed-Alike is not viable, I'm afraid. If the locks were assembled individually, by us, the price would probably be a lot higher. Batch production obviously makes it a lot more efficient, but this is the downside. We did raise the concern with the factory about the plastic caps being brittle, occasionally (2 reports in over 500 sold, if I am remembering correctly). The material spec has not been changed but it was a different production batch. Hence, something we will monitor. Apologies for the inconvenience. We have spare caps available, should they be required.]
Simply brilliant!
- 17/03/2018
I selected this lock based on its effective performance under attack testing combined with its relatively compact size and light weight. It is also good value! The way it engages with only a single chain link to leave its shackle pretty much hidden underlines an excellent design.
