We designed the Shed Shield to allow our high-security RoundLock to be used on wooden and metal shed doors. This is a summary of its features:

• High security fixing for shed doors, specifically for use with the RoundLock - Other locks will NOT fit;
• For use on outward-opening doors, only;
• Coach bolts securing both sides (some are concealed when the RoundLock is in place);
• 'Wide' and 'Narrow' size variants available, giving versatility across shed and door constructions;
• Spacer plates are an optional extra (sold separately) to adjust when the shed door and door frame are not quite level;
• 5mm thick laser-cut welded plates - The RoundLock adds to the level of protection making it difficult for a thief to attack;
• Eight M8 coach bolt fixings (4 bolts each for both sides) (Choose length required below - add 15mm to the *total* timber thickness);
• Suitable for a wide variety of shed and door designs (multiple fixing holes to choose from - More holes in the Wide plates);
• Easy DIY fit (Drill bit included);

Provided in Wide and Narrow versions for the Left side bracket, and for the Right side bracket. Choose the width of each to select Wide-Wide, Wide-Narrow, Narrow-Wide, or Narrow-Narrow, as required.

Dimensions: The Wide plates measure 91mm wide x 91mm high x 70.5mm deep (where 'deep' is coming away from the mounting surface). The Narrow plates measure 65mm wide x 91mm high x 70.5mm deep.

Note that the plates need to be mounted no more than 4mm apart when the door is closed.

If the door and the frame of your shed are not quite level, you can space one of the plates outwards to accommodate small discrepancies with optional flat spacer plates that we also offer in Wide and Narrow versions. These match the mounting hole patterns of the Wide and Narrow plates. These spacer plates are 3mm thick. For most sheds, these will not be necessary and can be ignored. If you do need e.g. maximum 2 plates, remember to select the matching Wide or Narrow size and also correspondingly longer mounting bolts for the main Shed Shield plates if required.

Shear nuts and plastic thread caps are available in our Extras and Upgrades-Hardware section, if required. (Normal fixings include standard M8 nuts as there is normally no advantage in using shear nuts on the inside of a door.)
