This page summarises security products that are frequently used for protecting various groups of items. If your property item is not mentioned, try to choose something similar. For example, a Golf Buggy, is fairly similar to a Quad Bike, so Quad Bike security is a good starting point. If there is nothing similar, please contact us and we will see if we can add guidance to help.

Securing a trailer overlaps with the typical guidelines for securing a motorcycle, since the values are often similar and the tools used by thieves are frequently similar. However, a trailer is a larger item and this gives some opportunities to improve the security that can be achieved, but a trailer will invariably be stolen by a thief with a vehicle, so the deterrent needs to be tougher if it is to provide protection against a powered removal of the trailer.

Farm tractors, construction plant, dumpers, diggers, concrete mixers and similar items are often targeted by thieves, indeed groups of thieves, with power tools and vehicles. They don't want to make noise, but they frequently go for equipment in isolated and rural locations where noise is less likely to be heard. This means the security has to be high-grade if it is going to have any chance of providing enough of a deterrent. That, in turn, means that multiple layers of security are invariably required: Protect the perimeter boundary of the site; Store items in secure buildings wherever possible; Protect all possible entries to buildings; Provide multiple types of security on each item; Secure items individually if possible, so a thief only gets one item at a time; Consider a tracking, tagging or security marking product.
We would typically suggest that you start with at least motorcycle-level security, and go up from there, with multiple anchors, heavier chains (e.g. the Protector 22mm Titan chain), and multiple high-grade locks.
Other vendors offer the likes of steering ram locks, tagging and marking products. Beware that tags and security marks do not stop a thief from stealing anything; they mean that a thief may have to conceal or remove the tag or mark before selling-on the item. Or he may sell it on as-is and pass he risk of being caught onto the purchaser. We have always believed that physical security is far more of a deterrent to the hief when he is on-site as he has no option but to defeat it there and then. A tag etc can be defeated later, at his leisure.
A high-grade burglar alarm is also recommended, including telephone alert capability and something like a Master Blaster intense audible siren, all to encourage thieves to avoid spending time in the area.

Hospitals can have high-value items of diagnostic and treatment equipment that are portable, such as mobile X-Ray machines. Thieves have been known to steal such things! We would normally recommend a motorcycle-level deterrent, as a minimum, and often with a Protector 19mm chain joining the machine to a wall-mounted ground anchor. Because of the nature of hospitals and re-purposing of rooms, it is sometimes desirable for the anchor to be removable, such as our Double Doofer removable ground (or wall) anchor.
