The Torc Mega, Beefy Bridge and Double Doofer are all available with multiple fitting kits to suit different substrates and installation environments.

That's one of the things that we think sets Pragmasis apart from others.

There is no outright "best" fitting kit and the best choice depends on:

• The material being fixed into (concrete, brick, block, metal)
• The quality and thickness of that material
• Whether resin or expanding fixings are more appropriate

In general: For brick walls, we'd opt for the expanding bolts kit. For concrete floors, we'd go for the resin kits. However you can use the kits in both substrates.

Van and bike shed kits are designed for thin metal structures and framing.

Our different kits allow you to get the best fitting; the anchor itself cannot compensate for poor fixings or unsuitable substrates.

Can I fit an anchor to a wall?

It depends on the wall construction and fitting kit. Fix the anchor to a sound structural surface and use a kit suitable for both the material and the mounting orientation.

Rendered walls, hollow blocks and low brick walls need particular care. Send us photos and details of the wall if you are unsure. Expanding fixings should not be used close to vulnerable wall edges.

Resin capsules or injection resin?

Resin capsules are intended for the specified installation in sound concrete floors or brick walls. Injection resin can be used on suitable horizontal or vertical surfaces. The additional resin in an injection resin cartridge means you can compensate for a poor quality substrate (for example old, thinner or cracked concrete).

For a wall installation using injection resin, the anchor must be supported firmly in position while the resin cures. Follow the instructions for the exact kit rather than borrowing drilling depths or cure times from another installation.

What if a resin capsule is broken or I make a fitting mistake?

If a capsule arrives broken, do not continue with that capsule or try to collect its contents for use. Contact us as soon as your order arrives with a photograph so we can arrange the appropriate next step.

Read the complete fitting instructions before starting, including when protective balls, caps or plugs are fitted. These parts are intended to prevent access to the completed fixings and must not be installed early.

If you fit a part in the wrong order, drill an incorrect hole or discover unsuitable concrete, stop and contact us before improvising a repair. Send photographs, the anchor and kit details, and the hole dimensions where relevant. Advice depends on what has already been done.

Can I change fitting kits or reuse existing holes?

Check with us first. Hole spacing, diameter, depth and bolt design can differ between anchors and fitting kits.

Do not simply put a resin capsule into a hole drilled for an expanding fixing. Tell us which anchor and kit you have, the substrate, and the existing hole dimensions so we can advise on a suitable approach.
