How to fit and load the Pragmasis Chain Carry Case
The Chain Carry Case lets you carry a suitable security chain on your motorcycle. Check the combined weight of the chain, lock and any other contents, as well as the available mounting points, before using it.
How do the straps connect?
The buckle-and-hook straps connect the bag to the separate loop straps attached to the bike.
- Position the case on the pillion seat and identify suitable mounting points. It is usually best to remove the pillion seat to reach the subframe.
- Attach the plain loop straps to suitable subframe or grab-rail mounting points, following the supplied instructions. The buckle-end is used to secure the strap to your subframe, the sewn loop end should stick out from underneath your seat. Keep the straps clear of moving parts, hot components and wiring.
- Click each buckle strap into the matching buckle on the bag.
- Connect the metal hook at the other end of each buckle strap to the loop end of the strap connected ot the bike, on its corresponding mounting strap.
- Tighten the straps evenly so the case is secure. Check that the seat locks properly and the straps are not trapped against sharp edges.
- Tidy the loose strap ends so they cannot flap or reach a wheel, chain or exhaust. Double them back through the retaining arrangement shown in the instructions.
Check the case and its attachments before riding and inspect the straps, buckles and stitching regularly. Stop using the case if an attachment is damaged or the case can move out of position.
Will my chain fit?
Both the size of the packed chain and its weight matter. A chain fitting inside the bag does not mean it is within the permitted load. Include the lock and any other contents when weighing your load, and follow the current case instructions and your motorcycle's luggage limits.
If you are unsure, tell us the chain diameter and length, the lock you intend to carry and your motorcycle model. We can help check the arrangement before you order.
Can I carry more than the stated load?
Do not exceed the stated load limit. Extra weight can overload the straps and attachments even if the bag still closes. If you are using the bag to carry a heavier load, we advise you also use an elasticated cargo net to help secure the bag in place.
What if a strap or buckle is damaged?
Contact us with your order details and clear photographs of the affected part as soon as you receive your order. We can check the available replacement options. Do not rely on a damaged strap or improvise an unapproved replacement.
