Keyed-alike Roundlocks and DIB D-locks

Updated on Oct 12, 2026

What does keyed alike mean?

Keyed-alike locks share the same key. Choose this option when buying two or more compatible locks that you want to operate with one key. Keyed-to-differ locks have different keys.

Can a Roundlock and DIB D-lock share the same key?

Yes, when matching keyed-alike versions are available. Select the keyed-alike option for both locks and order them together. If you are unsure whether matching stock is available across the two ranges, contact us before ordering.

Selecting keyed alike on only one of the locks does not make the other lock part of the matching set.

Can you match a new lock to one I already own?

Do not order a new keyed-alike lock on the assumption that it will match an older one. Matching an existing key number is not a standard service and may not be possible.

Send us the number from the metal key tag and your original order details before ordering. We can check whether any matching stock or other option is available. For a new set, ordering all the keyed-alike locks together is the most reliable approach.

Can a Roundlock or DIB share a key with a Squire padlock?

No. Roundlock and DIB locks use a disc-detainer mechanism with a different key design from the Squire padlocks. These two systems cannot be matched to the same key.

Keep the metal key-number tag in a safe place. The number identifies the key; it is not marked on the outside of the lock.
